Sightseeing in Bangkok:
A cardinal attraction of Bangkok, Wat Pho or Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is one of the oldest temples in Bangkok and the abode of the largest Reclining Buddha (150 feet long) in Thailand.

Marvel at the magnificent Temple of the Dawn or Wat Arun which is celebrated for its 70 metre high steeple embellished with Chinese porcelain and minute bits of coloured glass.

To behold the sight of the 14th century Emerald Buddha, pay a visit to Wat Phra Kaeo or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha which is situated within the premises of the Grand Palace and is regarded as the most precious temple of Thailand.

Wat Benchamabophit or The Marble Temple is renowned for its image of Buddha, an imitation of the venerable Phra Buddhajinaraja and a beamed ceiling which is brightly painted in dark red and gold.

Behold the sight of the 5 ½ tons golden Buddha which is the focal feature of Wat Traimit or the Temple of the Golden Buddha.

Constructed in 1782, the Grand Palace complex is an assemblage of many splendid edifices which include government buildings, historic homes and religious sites.
Created by King Rama V, Vimanmek Mansion, the world’s largest teak construction is a grand fusion of Victorian and Thai architecture and is one of the most important architectural buildings of the city.

Jim Thompson House, the residence of Jim Thompson, the American who initiated the Thai silk Industry post World War II, exhibits some of the rarest specimens of Asian art and is worth seeing.

The largest Southeast Asian Museum, The National Museum of Bangkok exhibiting an extensive aggregation of antiquities is the prime museum of the city. The erstwhile mansion of Princess Chumbhot of Nagor Svarga, Suan Pakkad Palace Museum is another important museum which displays historical objects and pieces of art. Do not miss Royal Barges National Museum which exhibits ornamented boats which were imperative for the performance of State ceremonials.

Shop at Chatuchak Market, the most extensive market in the city. The Chatuchak Market is spread along 35 acres and littered with more than 15,000 shops and stalls. The unique aspect of this marketplace is that it sells nearly everything from household supplements to living plants and animals. Also, take a look at the beautifully made Thai Handicrafts which are widely exhibited here.
